Professional

I recently graduated from Cape Audio College with a Diploma in Audio Engineering, and received an Award for the Most Involved Student.   I shall be studying further at the College this year towards an Advanced Diploma in Audio Engineering, Post Production and Pro Tools Audio Engineering Software.

I am new to the field of video editing, even though I have touched on it previously.

My main interests in my profession are Audio/Visual Post Production (putting sound to picture) and Acoustics/ Studio Development.

I have not yet had the opportunity of sharing my knowledge other than to friends and family.

Personal

I was born into a very supportive family with both my parents having always encouraged me to pursue my dreams, goals and passion.

My main interest is music as it is the most amazing form of communication and relaxation.  I have also played bass guitar for over 6 years in a number of local Cape Town bands.

I was introduced to the world of travel at a very young age and have travelled to more than 16 countries worldwide.  Travel is a wonderful form of education, a great way to meet new people, learn new cultures and of course see interesting places.

I have participated in many types of sports throughout my school career from soccer to cricket, hockey, swimming etc.  At the moment, I have very little time for any physical extra-mural activity, other than gyming on the odd occasion.

Inspiration

The people that inspire me the most are definitely my parents and grandmother.  These three people have helped me get through hard situations and watched me flow through easy ones.

Another two people that inspire me because of their will to live, succeed and do anything that they put their minds to, are Anthony Kiedis and Michael “Flea” Balzary from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  I have not yet had the opportunity of meeting them but I hope that that wish will come true for me one day.

An inspirational place for me is being in a music studio or at home.  Both of these places allow my thoughts to run wild and be as creative as I feel the need to.

Message to the women of South Africa

My message to the women of South Africa is that no matter how many times a man says you aren’t good enough, believe that you actually are.  You have come far and developed substantially over the years, even when you were pushed down because of your gender.

Life goals and Quote

The one thing that I am sure of in my life is the need to make music, create happiness through music, create job opportunities and be wealthy because “The only thing money gives you, is the freedom of not worrying about money”.
