During this time of newfound capitalism and opportunity, she also discovered her skills as a social animal and networker! However, her love for South Africa and Cape Town led her home, where she has been working in marketing, advertising, and trend forecasting.

After a few years in the industry, Lea saw the opportunity to create a company, Connect-123, with her husband Steven which would facilitate high value, career related internships for international students with South African businesses and NGOs. Lea is a keen social animal, loves horse riding, and the outdoors, still tries to make time for painting and also is the mother of two boys, Zach and Nate.

On a professional note
Connect-123 assists top international students and graduates to find volunteer work and internships (unpaid), in their specialised fields in Cape Town. We take care of all the details – screening applicants, checking references / work experience, and arranging the student’s visa, insurance, transport and accommodation.  Since we receive a placement fee from the student, we provide our service to local organisations at no cost. Have a look at our site for more info at www.connect-123.com

We place students in all disciplines from health care to finance since we tailor make the placements, based on the local organisation’s needs.
