Dube Tribal Authority gets helping hand from local Business College

PC Training and Business College has committed to a community outreach project in the North Coast town of Dube which aims to educate and empower members of the rural community. The Business College that specialises in Information and Communication Technology programmes and courses will be supplying qualified facilitators and educators to conduct a series of basic computer courses at the newly built training facility in Dube. The initiative is a joint partnership between the college and the Dube Tribal Authority.
The Dube Tribal Authority has made a considerable investment in the community to upgrade the ICT skills by investing in this portable state-of-the-art iLab facility, which includes a 25-seater computer lab, 16-seater internet café, a backup generator, 6 public phones and has internet connectivity via satellite link up.
Over the next few months, PC Training and Business College will be rolling out an End User Computing Training Programme that will enable all community members to participate. The programme will include theory and practical work and learners will be trained according to SETA requirements.
