Michelle Pedigo is Distribution Vice President of the Northeast Division, which is comprised of 10 firms with nearly 1,175 financial services representatives.

Since July 2007, in this role and previously as Vice President of Sales, Pedigo has been providing strategic sales support for the region, focusing on recruiting and retention as well as increasing per agent sales productivity.  To do this, she is enhancing the local infrastructure, including working with each managing director on business planning and ensuring accountability.

Prior to this, she served as national director, Distribution Partnerships, for MetLife Resources, a division of MetLife, which provides retirement plans and other financial services to healthcare, education, and not-for-profit organizations.

Pedigo was responsible for Workplace Benefits, supporting its financial services representatives to provide employer clients with advice, as well as employee and voluntary benefits.  She also headed a team that assisted MetLife’s sales force – MetLife, New England Financial, Tower Square Securities and Walnut Street Securities – with sales of annuities for the 403(b) and 457 markets.  Annuity deposits within this market were approximately $260 million annually.

When MetLife Resources acquired CitiStreet Associates in 2005, making it the fifth largest company serving the 403(b) market and second largest in the K-12 marketplace, Pedigo was a critical part of the team that seamlessly integrated the two entities.

During this time with MetLife Resources, she also led the group’s sponsorship activity, particularly with respect to education and healthcare.  She joined MetLife as National Director of Strategic Alliances for MetLife Resources in August 2002.

Prior to joining MetLife, Pedigo was the 2001 MetLife/National Association of Secondary School Principals National Middle School Principal of the Year.  That was one of the honors she earned while serving the Barren County Middle School in Kentucky.  Under her leadership, Barren County Middle School also became one of four nationally recognized Schools to Watch.

She is a published author who has served with national educational associations and as a panelist for the U.S. Department of Education.

In addition to earning principal, supervisory and teaching certifications, she has a Masters degree in Education from Western Kentucky University and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown College. Pedigo and her husband Ivan are the proud parents of daughters Sara-Cate, Deanie, Mallory and Bailey.
