New website to ease renovations in South Africa

Most dinner parties these days have at least one person detailing their renovation or building nightmare, a common source of frustration for most homeowners!

HelpMeBuild has been launched for this exact reason, to ease the renovation process and reduce the stress by providing South Africans with access to a large directory of tradesmen and product and service providers ranging from plumbers to removal companies and from granite to cornices.  Companies can be reviewed online, enabling us to source local products and services in our area and read references previously posted.

The site also provides a wide range of useful information including interesting DIY tips & guidance articles on all sorts of home building subjects.  The legal side of building is addressed including building regulations, dealing with poor workmanship, noise regulations and home insurance issues.

A fantastic feature enables us to buy and sell second-hand home-related goods through the site by posting adverts and pictures online; be it old furniture, office equipment or retiring kitchen counters or windows!  An entire section is dedicated to promoting environmentally-friendly products and services as well as a wealth of useful green building information.

Lauren Cowan, Managing Director at www.HelpMeBuild.co.za, states that ‘South Africans have long needed a one-stop online resource that handles all their renovations questions such as where to find reliable tradesmen, how to improve their own DIY knowledge, how to green their homes and how to get rid of old furniture!  We hope to improve the quality and professionalism of workmanship in South Africa by providing a consumer-driven rating system which enables consumers to voice their praise and their complaints and enables proud companies to showcase their services, latest products, competitions and news.’

Visit www.helpmebuild.co.za to access this useful resource.
