In a pop music world in which a single line hook seems all that is necessary to churn out another party song for pop radio, Bruno Mars reminds us that durable pop songs involve a hook as well as memorable music and lyrics to paint an entire picture and take our emotions on a journey. "It Will Rain" is another song of romantic anguish in the vein of "Grenade." There may be some weaknesses in production and performance, but the song itself is a gem.
