In December 2008 Angelo Henry ran an Antarctic Marathon, where he came in third for South Africa, and took his personal record to 7 marathons on all seven continents of the world. Now looms the final leg of Angelo’s ‘Grand Slam Club’ attempt – the North Pole Marathon. In order to become a member of the Grand Slam Club, runners must complete full length marathons on all seven continents, as well as a marathon over the icy Arctic – to the North Pole!

My name is Brad Brown and I’m the weekend breakfast jock on 94.7 Highveld Stereo in Johannesburg. My mom is fighting the battle against breast cancer as I write this.
Her name is Lynthia and she is 59. She was diagnosed with breast cancer back in August 1999 (after having a lump in her breast for over a year before she had it checked out); she went through chemo and was in remission for a few years.
