Kim took the dramatic decision to start her own business in 2001 and had started without capital or equipment and just a burning desire to start her own business.Kim originally built her business as a single parent. She later married and at age 40 she became a mother to her youngest daughter. Kim's business won the 2003 Business Woman's Association/Nedbank Regional Start Up Business of the Year Award.
