I have been a Financial Planner since October 2005 at a franchise of Liberty Life.
I started my career as I wanted to deal with clients and have been in the insurance industry since 1997. When I started as a financial planner, my goal was to interact and assist clients in a non – aggressive way and start building long term relationships with all my clients. In February 2006 I attended a Women’s show and worked there assisting the ladies with questions regarding investments and estate planning, ect. I was asked a question by a mature lady and I must say I was left shell-shocked. The question was…….. I have been the care giver/ home maker and mother all my life, my husband told me not to worry about our finances nor our retirement as he will handle this,so I focused on my children & my home, been the best at this that I could possibly be…. Then my husband broke the news to me, he wanted a divorce. I was left desititute, no retirement savings, no skills and no money… what do you suggest I do now? It was then that I decided to educate and help all women in South Africa, don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of male clients and I deal with men and women, but my focus or goal in life is to at least make 10% of SA women financially independent before I leave this world! There may very well be 10% of SA women financially independent, but I personally would like to make 10% independent.
I can assist you with personal financial planning, goals and needs!
