Cape Towns Uber Entertainment Destination launches in time for the Festive Season

On 10th December 2009, Vaudeville, Cape Town’s uber entertainment destination, will open its doors with a lavish nine - act show compèred by Irit Noble and produced by Will Hutton and Andrew Florenca. The outstanding theatrical team behind Vaudeville combines the creative talents of Hutton and Florenca of The Sunroom with the well-known party architect Dirk Vervaeke as the art director. Described as a show that is ‘Marlene Dietrich’s 1930’s Berlin-meets-Tarantino’, it features, in true multi-genre vaudeville theatre tradition, an exceptional cast of local and international performers in a diverse display of burlesque, circus arts and global street entertainment embroidered with visual art technology that interacts uniquely with the performance mix.

Vaudeville is a 300-seater supper club venue offering a spectacular performance over a superb three-course dinner created by Andrea Foulkes and her team at DISH Food & Social, whose famous fare is known to be a riot of flavour and colour. Jinx, a fabulous 5 piece band,  will be providing live music that will be a blend of circus Balkan and oompah. The venue also incorporates the Moroccan-themed Fez Club that is being re-launched by former Fez patron Darren Skinner and Andrew Lee from the Karma Lounge, and its convenient location will enable patrons to continue the party after each show.

vaudeville Vaudeville has been conceptualised by Robert Sawyer and Tom Pearson-Adams of RSTPA Media (Pty) Ltd, whose vision it is to create the Mother City’s most sought after nightspot. Sawyer, with 25 years experience in hotels, restaurants and bars, is more qualified than most to embark on a project of this nature. Having successfully floated his UK based entertainment group ‘Po Na Na’ in the 1990’s Robert has since turned the once unknown hotel The Farinet in Switzerland’s Verbier into the world’s number one Après Ski venue and Vaudeville will be his 100th venue opening. His business partner Tom Pearson-Adams comes with 15 years experience in and around the European music industry with numerous international broadcast and licensing credits including the first global Ministry Of Sound DVD and introducing the sales of the George V (Buddha Bar series) label to the UK. They are currently working on a number of European based projects and own the South African based book publishing company Outstanding 100.

Performances run throughout the festive season from Mondays to Saturdays at 8:15pm with tickets costing R350 to R395 per person that includes the show, a three course meal and free entry into The Fez. For group bookings of ten or more, a 10% discount offer is available . Advance booking is essential, with ticket and VIP Lounge bookings via bookings@vaudeville.co.za or 0861 SUPPER.  Vaudeville and the Fez Club is located at 11 Mechau Street (off lower Bree Street) on the Foreshore in Cape Town. Ample on-street parking with security is available around the venue. Please note there is PG13 rating on this show.
